Very rare demos. 12 tracks, 36 minutes. This is the very first demo sequence of the album, the infamous Madvillain demo. Each of these tracks contain early vocal cuts by DOOM, all recorded and (quickly) mixed in Los Angeles CA at Madlib’s Bomb Shelter studio. The track titles are written by Madlib.

Apathy – The Allien Tongue (CD) (2012) (FLAC + 320 kbps)

2012, Apathy , , , 05.02.2016

Apathy - The Allien Tongue

This album compiles some of Apathy’s earliest demo recordings from as far back as 1994 up until 1998. Transferred from cassettes and ADAT studio tapes, these songs represent his early to late teen years, as well as Eternia’s first recordings ever. “The Alien Tongue” is a title that takes you on a journey thru the 90’s era of Apathy, fresh into his early association with Jedi Mind Tricks, as this was around the same time he was recording for their debut album, “The Psycho Social…” Also included are some of the first beats Ap ever produced, made on an old school Ensoniq ASR-10. This release gives fans a great insight into the mind of a young Apathy and a spotlight on the beginnings of what would become a highly respected legacy.

Prince Paul Presents: Horror City – ’95 Demo (Vinyl EP) (2010) (FLAC + 320 kbps)

2010, Horror City, Prince Paul , , , , 29.01.2014

Very dope demo cuts from the Horror City collective, produced by Prince Paul. Even tho its a demo the quality is amazing. Guess Paul took good care of the DAT’s.

The ‘Horror City’ project was recorded in 1995 (just after Paul’s work on the Gravediggaz debut album), with a crew of local mc’s from the Amityville neighbourhood of Long Island, known under the collective banner ‘Horror City Productions’. H.C.P was the brainchild of LI rapper Superstar aka Roy Hamilton. They released a 12″ back in 1986 called ‘Clap Yo Hands’ on their own label, then worked on a project with De La Soul’s Maseo in 1994. The latter was ‘nearly’ signed to Tommy Boy, and that is the story of Horror City. From Russell Simmons’ cash advances to De La Soul hook ups, the MC’s never quite made it big, something always got in the way. They guested on Paul’s excellent 1998 album ‘A Prince among Thieves’ and some of the ‘Horror City ’95’ session tracks appeared in a different form on that album. Prince Paul, for some unfathomable reason, couldn’t get the project signed in ’95 and it sat in his studio, collecting dust for the next decade and a half.
